Many phones use Polyphonic ringtone , which are made up of multiple channels and they produce a more realistic sound. These phones are currently being phased out, but many sites still carry the Polyphonic ringtones . Many phones these days can now directly play MP3 files. Most higher end phones these days can play MP3’s. With some of the high end phones you can now upload your mp3 music files from your computer and use them as ringtones on your phone.
